This place is INCREDIBLE. So many ice cream shops nowadays charge you an arm and a leg for a small scoop - here, the "micro" size is both affordable and also almost enough you could share. The flavors and combinations are inventive and delicious. And, the service is CRAZY fast - it seems like it's rare that you're even done paying before your ice cream is ready. So if there's a long line, it will move quickly. Free parking lot, and benches and all the things an ice cream shop needs and nothing more.
Love Ted Drewes!! It was busy, but not extremely crowded. There were so many windows to order from, so service was pretty quick. I wouldn't say we had the friendliest service, but we got what we ordered. I had a Blue Note concrete (vanilla custard, blueberries, lemon, and graham crackers). The custard is sooooo creamy!! It was absolutely delicious. I ordered a size small and it was filling and so delicious!! I highly recommend you try this place!!!
Classic ice cream shop with so many choices. They serve delicious soft serve custard as shakes, sundaes, concretes (the original blizzard) and malts. They have just about every topping you can imagine as well. We had the Christy sundae and the Lemon Crumble. So good!!
Always a line but it moves quickly! New light and fence for safe walk way!
St. Louis staple! Consistently good custard with lots of flavors! Busy spot to grab some dessert on a beautiful warm St. Louis day. Line moves fast so don’t let that scare you away! Dog friendly.. and preferred!
Such a cute place! The custard is so so creamy and the flavors are divine! It was fun to get to stroll through the Christmas trees and see their museum/gift shop. My dad lived in St. Louis in the 90s and still can't stop talking about their custard. Wonderful place!
I've been going here for 50 years. I've never had a single bad experience. No exaggerations... and I grade pretty hard. The employees are hard workers who have to move at a pace that doesn't offer a lot of time for chit-chat, but it pays off in their ability to keep those famous lines moving so you can get that creamy custard. Ted Drewes is a St. Louis iconic treasure that is one of the strong pillars that forms the foundation in having an authentic St. Louis experience. It's a MUST visit! For anyone seeing the pictures, my dog only got a little of my custard. It was his first trip and LOVED it! It really is good, guys... and gals!
A St. Louis institution that lives up to the hype. Ted Drewes has been serving frozen custard since 1930, and their signature “concretes” are a testament to their enduring quality. The custard is rich, creamy, and thick enough to be served upside down—a tradition they proudly uphold.
